Everything got better!

Hello Richard Rogers,

So the DEFENDER went into my Maestros outlet in my office system 'just for the burn in period.' I listened and it sounded good. I removed a Furman power conditioner from the chain and plugged my amp directly into the Maestros outlet with the DEFENDER and I was amazed how great it sounded. Everything got better!!!

After eight days of burn-in, the sound became even more refined. So I will try the DEFENDER in my main system to evaluate; however, I will have to buy another DEFENDER if I like the results. My first DEFENDER stays in my office system forever.

You folks have great customer service.

Like A Live Performance

Dear Caelin,

I just wanted to thank you for all you have done for those of us who enjoy listening to music.

Over the past year I was introduced to Shunyata Research through Music Direct. I acquired COBRA ΞTRON™ Power Cords to improve power delivery and the VENOM DEFENDER, DARKFIELD CABLE ELEVATOR's and MINI's to minimize EMI. I was so impressed by the dramatic effect these additions had in my system. The sound quality was transformed. It now resembles that of a live performance. There is such beauty in the highly resolved music I am hearing.

Thanks to you and your company for developing such advanced technology as "ΞTRON®" and for manufacturing so many value products. I feel privileged to have benefitted from your hard work.

The Fifth Element #82

Replacing a GE power strip bought at a hardware store and a mélange of IEC power cords, I installed the VENOM PS8, its spikes, the VENOM DEFENDER, the PS8's 20-amp power cord, and VENOM HC power cords for: the Parasound Halo CD 1 (used as a transport), the Bricasti M1 DAC, and the Lindell AMPX power amp. Following about 48 hours of break-in, serious listening revealed no negatives, and the rather obvious positives of a lower noise floor and a more easeful sound.

So it was very gratifying when a listening chum who hadn't visited in a while -- a serious DIY loudspeaker designer-builder -- spontaneously and rather wonderingly commented on the dynamic freedom he was hearing from a 20W amplifier: the Lindell AMPX. I hastened to point out that the total cost of the power-delivery products was twice that of the amp, which we both agreed provided food for thought.

I think Shunyata Research's VENOM Power System is a solidly safe recommendation -- even more important, all Shunyata dealers offer a money-back guarantee. Highly recommended. (The Fifth Element #82)

VENOM DEFENDER Mahalo!

Aloha Richard,

I love the improvement the VENOM DEFENDER has made to my system. With high end audio price rising into the stratosphere it's great to find cost effective products that perform.

Mahalo!

Venom PS8 Power Distributor with Venom Defender Line Conditioner

In 1996, a physics professor at New York University named Alan Sokal sent an article manuscript to an academic journal called Social Text, a self-styled journal of “postmodern cultural studies.” The essay was a work of fiction, filled with utter nonsense, but also replete with the catchwords du jour, which is to say jargon incomprehensible to anyone outside the cloistered confines of the university. The very title speaks volumes: “Transgressing the Boundaries: Towards a Transformative Hermeneutics of Quantum Gravity.” The article was published, clearing ‘peer review.’ After publication, Sokal revealed the article to be a hoax. His point was made: a great deal of academic writing is gibberish masquerading as science. Sound familiar to audiophiles?

Today there are hundreds of rich people in the rich world laughing all the way to the bank as they separate people with more money than sense from their money. The process is, I don’t know… somewhat magical. Six hundred thousand dollar speakers? Check. One hundred thousand dollar interconnects? If you’ve got the money, those can be purchased too.
