A SONIC EXPERIENCE LIKE NO OTHER

Sigma-X Analog Interconnects represent a major advancement in Shunyata Research’s engineering. Built on years of research and innovation, Sigma-X combines cutting-edge technologies that allow analog systems to perform with exceptional clarity and dynamic range, setting a new standard for high-resolution sound.

Designed to meet the demands of world-class audio systems, Sigma-X interconnects leverage Shunyata Research’s advanced TAPc (Transaxial Polarization) technology, which further reduces signal distortion and noise interference. The result is a highly refined sonic experience that serves as a benchmark for superior noise reduction, harmonic detail, weight and musical realism. For those seeking top-tier performance the Sigma-X provides a true reference standard —delivering profound musicality and technical excellence.

For those seeking top-tier performance the Sigma-X provides a true reference standard —delivering profound musicality and technical excellence.

Sigma-X interconnects feature the PMZ (Precision Matched Impedance) conductors. They feature ultra-pure PCOCC silver conductors, PTFE dielectrics, and precision braided shields that are extruded at one quarter the typical speed to achieve its level of precision. This precision results in superior signal fidelity, improved low-level detail and greater dynamic impact. The KPIP v2 (Kinetic Phase Inversion Process) conditions the conductors for a period of 4-days which enhances sonic performance and reduces the break-in or settling time.

These meticulously designed processes offer superior coherence, improved low-level detail, and stunning dynamic impact, creating an immersive and captivating listening experience.

Sigma-X interconnects elevate music reproduction by eliminating background noise, time smear, and phase distortions, unveiling your music with unmatched transparency and dimensionality. The cables deliver exceptional resolution, dynamic precision, and a balanced tonal spectrum, ensuring instruments and vocals resonate with life-like presence.

Sigma-X draws listeners into the heart of every recording, offering an emotionally engaging performance that reveals the finest nuances, even in the most complex musical pieces.

TECHNOLOGY

TAPc

TAP (Transverse Axial Polarizer) is a patent-pending technology developed by Shunyata Research to enhance the performance of its reference signal cables. The evolution of this technology has led to the creation of TAPc, a groundbreaking advancement that significantly reduces the size of the modules, enabling their application across a broader range of cables, including power cords, interconnects, digital cables and speaker cables.

The sonic results of TAPc technology include a profound drop in perceived noise floor, effortlessly portrayed dynamics, and an exceptional rendering of timing and coherency. These benefits are unique to TAPc, setting it apart from any competing product or technology. Even to an untrained ear, the effects of TAPc are immediately apparent and consistently repeatable across various components and systems. Essentially, the TAPc modules act as force multipliers, elevating the listening experience to levels many would not have thought possible.

KPIP v2 tech icon

KPIP v2™ Shunyata Research’s proprietary Kinetic Phase Inversion Process includes four days of continuous KPIP v2™ processing which refines conductor metals at a molecular level. This dramatically reduces burn-in time and significantly improves sonic performance, delivering a relaxed and life-like presentation. When compared to the original process, KPIP v2™ represents a dramatic performance upgrade on par with a component-level upgrade.

PMZ

Shunyata Research produces select cables using a ‌Precision Matched Z (‌‌PMZ) concept. This means that tolerances of the conductor surface, dielectric extrusion, and the precision of the braided shield are held to minute variances. To achieve these tight tolerances, the extrusion and braiding machines must be run at one-quarter speed during the manufacturing process. (Note: Z means impedance)

2022 Fluorocarbon Dielectrics tech icon

Fluorocarbon dielectrics are usually only found in wire used in the aerospace industry, satellites and only the most expensive audiophile cabling. It has special electrical characteristics; very low dielectric absorption, high dielectric strength and exceptional heat resistance.  When used in audio and power cables is reduces the perception of dynamic compression and it improves sonic low-level resolution and clarity.

Crystal clear transient detail.

ArNi

‌‌ArNi® is a type of wire created by Shunyata Research designed to be the finest quality wire available for audio purposes. It begins with the highest purity of copper available – OFE C10100 or Ohno (single crystal). Then it is formed in virtual hollow tubes eliminating skin effects and eddy current distortions. A premium fluorocarbon insulation minimizes dielectric absorption and re-radiation, greatly improving resolution and clarity. In addition, the wire undergoes our proprietary KPIP™ process.
