High-Current Performance and Flexible Application
T30 and T30-X cables represent Shunyata Research’s most specialized high-current power cables. Developed for the Typhon T2 and T30, these cables deliver maximum performance to the most demanding components, while offering extreme flexibility and connector customization.
At the core of both models are Shunyata’s 6-gauge VTX-Ag™ conductors—the same reference-grade conductors found in the Sigma-X line. T30 and T30-X cables feature a unique construction that allows for a wide range of custom termination options as well as effortless cable routing. Each model is offered in two formats to suit specific applications:
UMBILICAL: T30 and T30-X umbilicals are purpose-built for use between a Typhon power distributor’s 30A Amphenol output and a power distributor, amplifier or other component. Standard lengths are .5m/.75m/1m with no additional length restrictions. The shortest length required for each specific application is recommended.
POWER CORD: T30 and T30-X power cords are standard length (1.75m) and built for all other applications. Examples include: wall to power distributor (Amphenol or standard IEC), AC outlet to component IEC connections, etc.
T30-X Cables: Featuring TAPc Technology
The “X” variant of each cable incorporates Shunyata’s proprietary TAPc (Transverse Axial Polarizer) technology, housed within a distinctive carbon-fiber tube at the connectors. TAPc reduces electromagnetic distortion, dramatically lowering the perceived noise floor and enhancing timing precision, dynamics, and clarity. This technology has redefined performance across the X-series cable line, and now, it brings those same benefits to the high-current T30-X umbilicals and power cords.

GROUNDBREAKING TECHNOLOGY
TAPc (Transverse Axial Polarizer) is a patent-pending technology that couples to the electromagnetic fields surrounding electrical or signal conductors. TAPc behaves like a polarizer, passively reducing electromagnetic distortion that presents as a type of glare on sound or images.
The sonic impact of TAPc is unmistakable. There is a profound drop in perceived noise floor, effortlessly portrayed dynamics and an immediate improvement in the rendering of timing and coherency in sound. These performance elements are unique to TAPc and remain unaddressed by competing technologies of any kind. Even casual listeners can recognize the effect TAPc has upon first listen. Shunyata’s VTX-Ag cables are uniquely constructed with both an inner, center conductor made of pure silver and an outer concentric ring conductor made of pure copper. It’s made using the finest fluorocarbon insulation to minimize dielectric absorption and re-radiation which translates to an improvement in resolution and clarity. Fluorocarbon dielectrics are usually only found in wire used in the aerospace industry, satellites and only the most expensive audiophile cabling. It has special electrical characteristics; very low dielectric absorption, high dielectric strength and exceptional heat resistance. When used in audio and power cables is reduces the perception of dynamic compression and it improves sonic low-level resolution and clarity.

KPIP v2™ Shunyata Research’s proprietary Kinetic Phase Inversion Process includes four days of continuous KPIP v2™ processing which refines conductor metals at the atomic level. This dramatically reduces burn-in time and significantly improves sonic performance, delivering a relaxed and life-like presentation. When compared to the original process, KPIP v2™ represents a dramatic performance upgrade on par with a component-level upgrade.
Many audiophile grade connectors are made from brass or bronze. While some may get a plating of silver, gold or rhodium, the majority of the current is carried by the contact’s base-metal. CopperCONN® connectors contain pure copper contacts which have a much higher conductivity than brass. The difference in performance is clearly audible.
