Introducing Eiger-X
Ascending Performance, Peerless Value.
Shunyata Research is proud to introduce Eiger-X, a six-outlet power distributor that brings key technologies from the award-winning Everest-X design platform into a more compact and accessible form.
Eiger-X is far more than an upgraded Eiger. It represents a major design progression, incorporating many of the same scientific principles that helped establish Everest-X within the world’s finest recording, mastering, and high-performance audio systems. Compact, flexible, and easy to place, Eiger-X delivers exceptional current delivery, noise reduction, and grounding performance in a real-world six-outlet chassis.
At the heart of Eiger-X is Shunyata Research’s patented QR/BB™ technology, a peak-current delivery circuit designed to supply instantaneous energy to connected components more efficiently than a standard wall outlet alone. For Eiger-X, this circuit has been expanded beyond the previous Eiger design, contributing to greater dynamic scale, authority, and timing precision.
Eiger-X also introduces TAPc™ technology to the Eiger platform for the first time. TAPc is designed to reduce EMI-related distortions that can obscure low-level detail, spatial information, and musical nuance. Its inclusion marks one of the most significant advancements over the original Eiger.
Noise reduction is further advanced through Shunyata Research’s Noise Isolation Chamber, three isolated zones of CCI filtration, and Ground Plane Noise Reduction technology. Derived from Shunyata Research’s Altaira grounding systems, GPNR reduces noise across the system ground plane, while two rear-panel ground posts allow connected components to benefit from Eiger-X’s internal grounding network.
Together, these technologies lower the noise floor, improve resolution, and allow music to emerge with greater clarity, focus, and dimensionality.
Eiger-X has already made a strong impression in professional recording environments. Grammy-winning, Oscar-nominated recording engineer Greg Wells recently adopted Eiger-X into his studio and described the results this way:
“If you truly want your mixes to sound as alive as possible, you have to audition some of the Shunyata gear. I recently acquired the new Eiger-X power conditioner. It’s not a subtle difference. There are lots of power conditioners out there but Shunyata is on a whole other level.”
Compared to the previous Eiger, Eiger-X adds a larger QR/BB circuit, increased noise reduction, GPNR grounding technology, and the extremely consequential TAPc EM field noise reduction technology.
The result is one of Shunyata Research’s most compelling values: a compact six-outlet power distributor that retains a significant portion of the technology and performance associated with the larger Everest-X platform, at under half the cost of Shunyata Research’s Reference tower model.
For systems that demand serious performance without the size or cost of a larger reference power distributor, Eiger-X delivers a rare combination of innovation, flexibility, and value.
CRITICAL TECHNOLOGIES IN EIGER-X
TAPc (Transverse Axial Polarizer) is a patent-pending technology that couples to the electromagnetic fields surrounding electrical or signal conductors. TAPc behaves like a polarizer, passively reducing electromagnetic distortion that presents as a type of glare on sound or images.
The sonic impact of TAPc is unmistakable. There is a profound drop in perceived noise floor, effortlessly portrayed dynamics and an immediate improvement in the rendering of timing and coherency in sound. These performance elements are unique to TAPc and remain unaddressed by competing technologies of any kind. Even casual listeners can recognize the effect TAPc has upon first listen. Results are consistent across a wide range of components and systems. Essentially, the TAPc modules act as force multipliers, elevating the listening experience to levels many would not have thought possible.
The QR/BB™ is a patented device which dramatically enhances the perception of dynamic impact and timing when connected to amplifiers or other high-current electronics. The QR/BB™ is unique in that it provides a local reserve of energy, or Coulomb charge, that mitigates the inductive reactance of the AC power line without using coils, transformers or capacitors. The QR/BB™ acts as an instantaneous energy reserve when placed in-line with an AC power supply.

GPNR (Ground Plane Noise Reduction) is an advanced ground noise filtering system engineered to reduce high-frequency interference that pollutes the ground plane of audio and video systems. GPNR provides continuous ground-plane noise reduction for all connected components, with no setup required. Components connected to the power distributor’s CGS (Chassis Grounding System) terminal via an external ground cable can access even higher performance by providing an ultra low impedance path to the GPNR filtration system. This enhances noise dissipation beyond what is possible through the standard AC ground path alone. By cleaning the system’s ground plane, GPNR dramatically lowers the system’s noise floor, preserving clarity, enhancing timing precision, and revealing subtle musical and spatial detail.
The NIC™ (Noise Isolation Chamber) is a patented Shunyata Research device that reduces high frequency power line noise. It employs a ferroelectric substance that actually absorbs high frequency noise without any of the reactive negatives associated with transformers and large capacitors as used in conventional power conditioners.

KPIP v2™ Shunyata Research’s proprietary Kinetic Phase Inversion Process includes four days of continuous KPIP v2™ processing which refines conductor metals at the atomic level. This dramatically reduces burn-in time and significantly improves sonic performance, delivering a relaxed and life-like presentation. When compared to the original process, KPIP v2™ represents a dramatic performance upgrade on par with a component-level upgrade.
