DUAL FUNCTION & HIGH PERFORMANCE
The GEMINI Model-4 is a unique product that is actually two devices in a single chassis. It includes both a high performance power conditioner and an advanced ground noise reduction hub. It features patented NIC™ noise isolation chamber technology that provides a common grounding point for all components and extends the GEMINI’s noise reduction capabilities to all system components. This significantly reduces AC noise and voltage differences between chassis components that may help to reduce potential ground loops.
The GEMINI Model-4 is the perfect solution for simpler high-end systems, headphone systems and for network closets. Headphones are particularly sensitive to power line noise and ground plane noise. Network switches, routers, music servers and computers all respond positively to improved power distribution and ground plane noise reduction. A GEMINI in the network closet provides a very significant performance boost to any audio/video system. Although the GEMINI Model-4 has a small footprint, it is a high current device capable of powering 200+ watt amplifiers.
For larger systems with more then 4 components please refer to the Gemini Model-8.
TECHNOLOGY
DYNAMIC TRANSIENT CURRENT DELIVERY
DTCD™ Analysis is a technique that measures instantaneous current through low impedance electrical conductors and contacts. Shunyata Research uses it to optimize the design, specification and construction of parts and materials to ensure maximum current delivery performance. Each part, conductor, noise circuit and material allows for maximum throughput of instantaneous current.
Listeners will experience earth-shaking low-frequency performance from even the highest-current amplifiers as well as dynamic contrasts unheard of outside of a live event. More than any other design parameter, Shunyata Research’s skill in eliminating resistance and maximizing peak-current delivery is unmatched.
NICâ„¢ TECHNOLOGY
The NICâ„¢ (Noise Isolation Chamber) is a patented technology that reduces high frequency power line noise.
NICs™ use a non-reactive ferroelectric substance that actually absorbs high frequency noise. This reduces noise without any of the negatives associated with power filter coils, capacitors and transformers.

CCIâ„¢ NOISE REDUCTION
Traditional power conditioners are designed to block incoming noise from outside the home, but do not address the noise that is generated by the electronic components themselves. In fact, most conditioners reflect noise back into other components connected to the power conditioner. CCI™ (Component-to-Component Isolation) is one of the most significant but often overlooked aspects to power system performance. The CCI™ filter consists of a proprietary multi-stage filter that reduces electrical noise and interference generated by a component’s power supply.
CGS - Chassis Grounding System
The CGS (‌‌Chassis Grounding System) is an internal ground-buss that uses patented NIC™ technology to reduce ground plane noise. ‌‌CGS provides a common grounding point and extends the noise reduction capability of the power conditioner’s internal Noise Isolation Chambers to other electronic components. ‌‌CGS helps to minimize inter-component voltage differences between component chassis and may reduce the hum associated with ground loops while improving low-level resolution and clarity.
The system includes four terminals, that allows up to eight audio components to be connected.
We offer several models of CGC Ground Cables each made to your custom length and termination requirements.
KPIP v2™ Shunyata Research’s proprietary Kinetic Phase Inversion Process includes four days of continuous KPIP v2™ processing which refines conductor metals at a molecular level. This dramatically reduces burn-in time and significantly improves sonic performance, delivering a relaxed and life-like presentation. When compared to the original process, KPIP v2™ represents a dramatic performance upgrade on par with a component-level upgrade.
‌‌ArNi® is a type of wire created by Shunyata Research designed to be the finest quality wire available for audio purposes. It begins with the highest purity of copper available – OFE C10100 or Ohno (single crystal). Then it is formed in virtual hollow tubes eliminating skin effects and eddy current distortions. A premium fluorocarbon insulation minimizes dielectric absorption and re-radiation, greatly improving resolution and clarity. In addition, the wire undergoes our proprietary KPIP™ process.
Electromagnetic Breaker
Over-current protection is a requirement for today’s high current audio power distributors. The vast majority of manufacturers use an inexpensive thermal fuse or breaker. Both are specifically designed to heat up as the current level rises. This causes voltage drops, increased contact impedance, thermal noise, excessive heat generation and current limiting effects. There is a better solution — the hydraulic electromagnetic breaker that utilizes low-impedance relays and a sensing coil that reads the current level without heating up or limiting current. They can operate right up the to the maximum current level without heating up or limiting instantaneous current. They are rarely used in competitive products since they cost 10-20 times that of a common fuse or thermal breaker.
Power distributors react very similarly to power amplifiers in their sensitivity to vibration. Using the Shunyata vibration analyzer, Caelin Gabriel developed the Shunyata ‌‌Isolation Footer, which possesses excellent measured vibration dampening characteristics. Shunyata Research also produces several SSF (stainless steel feet) that employ energy absorbing polymers. (Note: SSF feet are standard on some models and optionally available on others)
Cryogenic Processing
Shunyata Research operates its own onsite Cryogenics International computer-controlled cryogenic plant. Liquid nitrogen is used to reduce the temperature of the contents to -320 degrees Fahrenheit. The computer monitors and lowers the temperature by a single degree at a time to prevent thermal shock.
We use this process to improve the performance of connectors and various electrical components that are used in our power products and signal cabling.
